IMPORTANT

NOTICE

We always have animals in our care that are in need of their forever home. Whether you are an experienced pet owner or getting your first animal, PAWS will be happy to help you find the right pet for you.

If you were interested in one of our animals you would have to contact us for a chat prior to meeting the animal and having a home check (and any recommended work completed) by one of our volunteers before an animal is signed over to you and adopted.

If you are unable to adopt could you find it in your heart to offer a foster home to an animal in need?

Due to the rise in costs incurred by PAWS we have taken the decision to increase our adoption donation by a small amount as follows:

  • Cat £80

  • 2 Cats £120

  • Dog £160

  • 2 Dogs £240

  • Puppy £180

  • Rabbit £30

  • Guinea pig £20

As I am sure you can appreciate, the process of rescuing a pet and preparing the pet for someone such as yourself to adopt incurs many costs. We endeavor to release our pets to their new forever home in their best possible condition and health. In order to achieve this for each pet we typically spend in the hundreds of pounds region.

Cats and Dogs typically have all of the following:

  • Trip to the Vets for a health check and any medical treatment needed

  • Micro-chipping

  • Flea Treatment

  • Worming Treatment

  • Neutered/Spayed

  • Food, bedding and equipment such as collar & leads

  • Travel to rescue the pet

Rabbits are inoculated and neutered.

We ask for a donation for 2 main reasons:

  • To ensure you are serious about wanting to adopt a pet

  • To offset some of the cost of preparing your pet for you, so it maybe used towards helping another pet.

  1. Contact us to let us know about a pet you would be interested in adopting and  have a general chat with us.

  2. We will visit your home and family to assess your situation, to ensure your chosen pet is suitable.

  3. If we believe we have found the correct match, a 2 week trial for you and the pet begins.

  4. If after the trial everyone is happy, the pet will be signed over into your care.

  5. Once placed will keep a check on the Pet to ensure all is going well.

If during the trial you don’t feel you are a good match, just contact us and we will happily come and reclaim the pet. We want all parties involved to be happy with the adoption.

If after the pet has been signed over to you, you decide you want to re-home it – you must contact us.

No pet adopted from us can be passed onto anyone else. If you no longer wish to keep it, just contact us and we will happily come and reclaim the pet. We want all parties involved to be happy with the adoption.
